Six members of Kiritiri land board in Mbeere South Subcounty in Embu county have been arrested after allegedly receiving ‘handled’ bribe from officers from Ethics Anti Corruption Fee (EACC).
The EACC officers have been investigating allegations by some members of public that there was large corruption sarrounding the board earlier than pouncing on the suspects.
Whereas confirming the incident Mbeere South Subcounty police commander Benjamin Bowen confirmed that the six males who have been present held at Kiritiri police station being questioned by detectives.
“It’s true that there have been six males who have been introduced on the station after allegedly being concerned in corruption circumstances. My officers from DCI are investigating the matter to search out the reality,” he mentioned.
He promised to provide extra particulars later.
Members of public who’ve been searching for providers from the land board have in time been complaining that they have been being compelled to dig deep their pockets to pay sure amount of cash to get providers.
