Makueni to vaccinate animals in opposition to contagious illnesses – Kenya Information Company






Makueni County authorities, by the Division of Agriculture, has began a vaccination train in opposition to contagious illnesses focusing on 200,000 livestock.

Makueni County Govt Committee (CEC) member in command of Agriculture, livestock, Fisheries, Irrigation and Cooperative improvement Joyce Mutua stated the vaccination shall be in opposition to foot-and-mouth illness and Lumpy pores and skin illness in cattle whereas sheep and goats shall be vaccinated for pneumonia and goat plague.

She added that the vaccination train goals at growing family incomes of dairy farmers within the space by discount of livestock illnesses.

“We’re implementing this programme in partnership with Dairy Farmers Cooperative Society Restricted which goals at growing family incomes of dairy farmers within the county by livestock illnesses,” stated Mutua whereas launching the train on Wednesday at Kathonzweni.

Mutua stated the county is offering vaccines and employees whereas the cooperative society is offering logistical assist by aggregating focused animals for vaccination.

She added that the division is conducting farmer sensitization on livestock illness management and urged farmers to avail their animals for vaccination to forestall the illnesses.

The livestock shall be vaccinated at the popular central level and likewise at farmers’ houses including that the companies shall be accessed at a backed price of Sh50 Per animal and the train will run as much as the top of March.
