Wednesday, February 22, 2023 – Murang’a County Governor, Irungu Kang’ata, has expressed his disappointment over how President William Ruto is dealing with county affairs.

Showing in an interview with Citizen TV on Tuesday night, Kang’ata, who turned well-known for writing a letter warning former President Uhuru Kenyatta towards supporting the notorious Constructing Bridges Initiative(BBI) in 2020, stated Ruto’s authorities is but to supply counties with cash as enshrined within the structure.

Kang’ata stated he has been unable to pay salaries to workers for the final 4 months for the reason that Treasury is but to disburse cash to counties.

“We’ve not acquired cash for the previous 4 months. That’s unfair as a result of we’ve got salaries to pay, and workers won’t watch for 4 months. 

“Once you fail to launch exchequer monies to the counties, you’re making it tough for counties to function,” Kang’ata stated.
