The federal government is engaged on a plan to cut back the price of animal and rooster feeds in a bid to enhance advantages for farmers, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has stated.
Talking on Monday, the DP stated the federal government was in session with the feed producers to discover choices that might see a discount within the costs.
“Within the spirit of session that now we have adopted as a Authorities, the Ministry of Agriculture will work with the producers to develop an actionable and verifiable plan on making the feeds inexpensive to our farmers,” he stated.
DP Gachagua spoke when he held discussions with representatives of the Affiliation of Kenya Feed Producers (AKEFEMA) at Harambee Home Annex.
Gachagua stated the excessive price of feeds had contributed to expensive farm merchandise making them much less aggressive available in the market.
